The World Cup has barely started and already I'm sick and tired of it. Every single commercial, opinion or current event program is related to football. Every enterprise is trying to make a buck out of it. The papers are filled with football players. Everybody is talking about it, betting on pools, arguing who will win what and why. The country has turned orange. The neighbours have hung our street with dozens of little orange flags. My brother is turning into a fanatic.

Eergh.

There must be other things going on. Isn't there a volcano erupting somewhere? Bush campaining against gay marriage again? An ongoing war in Iraq? Trolleys killing pensioners? Anything?
