I'm trying to keep away from spoilers too, but it's *hard*! But even if the content of DH is rubbish, I still want to enjoy the *experience* ... even if the experience is akin to my session with HBP two years ago, one of gradually increasing disbelief and disgust as I consumed the pages.
We may be a lot less enamoured of the series now, but (a) we've invested so much time we've *got* to see this through; and (b) I don't know about you, but I'm still in very deep with the *fan fiction* part of the fandom. And that's likely to keep going, and keep satisfying me, for a while to come.
I enjoyed your analysis of whom might snuff it, but it's all pretty tenuous; she could do anything, really. But this is the book where we see if she's truly writing for children, because the kids will be expecting a Disney ending. Would JKR dare to upset all those millions of children, see them crying on the TV news? I doubt it.
See you after Saturday! Possibly Sunday, for me ... I tried to read HBP non-stop but ceased with about 100 pages to go at about 5pm on the Saturday, did normal stuff, went to bed, woke up, had breakfast ... and then finished it. It might prove to be the same again this time :-(
