See the JKR interview about her glorious Epilogue here?
Apparently there are still many people who are unable to use their own imagination and need JKR to spell out to them exactly what the trio is doing, like we couldn't guess this or something. JKR is obviously dying to tell, cause she thought the epilogue wasn't detailed enough (if only it hadn't been detailed at all...). So she then spins on in epilogue-style about every single cliche that our trio endeavours in after Hogwarts (you didn't expect it to sound realistic, did you?). Even Ron, who has never done or thought of anything special, excels at revolutionising a whole Ministry department (of course, ever in Harry's shadow, God forbid they actually choose different professions and become individuals). I wonder how they're doing it without Hermione leading them by the hand, cause honestly, thinking wasn't those boys' strength in those last two books (but then, they can do ANYthing and EVERYthing in EPILOGUE-land. They can have it ALL and cake). Hermione (or Super!Molly) is nearby though; they can memo her.
Even the DADA position isn't jinxed anymore! How swell (read: how redundant and how "unmagical"). But according to Hagrid, wasn't it jinxed years before Quirrelmort came into the school?
Hey look, JKR actually can change her mind about shipping (N/L) due to fan pressure (of coures, it is the OBHWF shipper's leftover ship!). Too bad she couldn't let go of her rigid and redundant ships when she was writing actual canon and had the characters's souls fight for meaning and run away from her though. And didn't she set up a nice Luna/Dean? Poor Dean, he keeps getting shoved aside for those "chosen ones".
PS. How sad is it that JKR says that Luna doesn't believe in some of those elusive creatures anymore as she grows up. I like a world in which Luna can believe in these things. It's like the death of fairies, right there. :(
PPS. Poetic? BWHAHAHA! Er. No.
Oh, I almost forgot. Where's Jenny? Still plain old Molly, I guess.
I'm not bitter, I'm snarking! (okay, maybe a bit bitter about that dumb crapilogue) :)

Date: 2007-07-29 03:24 am (UTC)extremely bitterslightly snarky posts and I just happened to see this one ... :-)Multiple errors with JKR on her interview (as usual!?). First up, no mention of Ginny at all, which satisfies me in one respect - since I do not deem her to be worthy of notice - but compounds my frustration at Harry being married off to her.
Secondly, loud agreement with you in that the boys wouldn't be able to handle the jobs. Harry as head Auror, etc? When he was just barely adequate at his school work, and didn't (as far as we know) do his NEWT year? Sure, he beat Voldemort ... with a disarming spell! That does not make him a man who can revolutionise the Auror department.
Finally ... I read an excellent comment - here - where the posted noted that, if Harry was sincere about 'deactivating' the Elder Wand by dying a 'natural death', the very LAST THING he'd want to do would be an auror! That's the sort of logic that JKR just can't do, or denounce.

Date: 2007-07-30 06:58 pm (UTC)JKR rectified this. Her every astronaut/superstar/president-cliche windmill is still turning.

I think "logic" has definitely gone out the window. Have you seen the Leaky-Cauldron chat? o_o

Date: 2007-07-31 03:30 am (UTC)No! Can you point me to it? I'll go and check their web site anyway, but I'd like to make sure I've got the right thing. Has there been another "Interview o' Doom"?
Does the interview explain what you said:
Her every astronaut/superstar/president-cliche windmill is still turning.
above? Otherwise, if it didn't ... huh? Can you explain?
